It was a Dark and Stormy Night...

(Well, really it was about 5:15 on a perfectly sunny Monday afternoon.)

So yesterday, I was driving to the gym after a long day at the office of adding shit up (very smelly), and there were a bunch of police cars on the opposite side of the road.  The traffic on this particular street is stop and go anyway, as the street is curvy and is only two lanes.  I was approaching the four lane portion of the road, and had about 1/2 a mile until I got to the gym.  I was thinking about what I was going to blog about for Tuesday and was replaying all of the weekend stuff that happened (new car seats and outlet mall shopping, also $$$$$$$$$), what had happened on Sunday (my sister calling because she thinks that one of my nephews could have been abused at some point in the past) or the breakfast we had that morning for one of my coworkers birthdays (which always leads to some type of crazy conversation).

And then I looked at the car in front of me and realized that it was stopped.  And I couldn't stop fast enough.  100_0852 100_0851_1

What makes this even more ridiculous is that during our breakfast, I said, "I was a crazy teenager, but I never had an accident in my car."  The only thing that could have been worse was if I had said it on my blog.  Then I probably would have sent someone to the hospital.  As it was, I was OK, she was OK, the police came and did a report (they were all congregated because a guy had tried to run over his girlfriend with his car, and according to the cop, that was illegal.  Who knew?), and we all went home.  Mr. Cheeks was not with me.  I was going slow enough that I'm not going to have to replace the new $160 car seat that was installed in my car on Sunday afternoon.  I did get her licence plate number - on my bumper.

This week is not looking good for the Mrs. CPA household.  I took Mr. Cheeks to the doctor this morning.  Runny nose = ear infection.  In his short 7 months on this earth, he has had 4.  Hopefully before the end of the year we can do tubes.  I can't stand knowing that his ears are probably on fire from all that gunk backed up in there and I can't fix it without $80 antibiotics.  He's still smiling away.  I don't know how we got such a good baby. (That is so sappy.)

I'm just going to stop here.  I'm having a bad day.  But the end of the week should be better.  My family is going to Huntsville to eat supper with JoyLynn and her husband and kiddo.  How fun will that be?

Sorry to hear about your fenderbender, but glad to hear that you (and the carseat) are okay. And no Mr. Cheeks, that was a relief!!

And as you know, I feel your pain in regards to multiple ear infections in just a short period of time for the little guy. Hang in there.

Oh, that sucks! Tomorrow has to be better! That's what we get for being such devoted bloggers...car accidents due to THINKING about blogging.

Yeah, you totally set yourself up for that one, didn't you know that? Glad everyone, including the car seat, are okay.

Sorry about Mr. Cheek's ittle bittle ears. Poor thing. I've got my fingers crossed for tubes. The friends I had in school that had them said they made such a difference.

Yuck. Car accidents suck. Glad that it was just a minor fender bender though! My sister had one of those on Thursday. Must be that kind of week.

Thank God you are ok.! It could have been so much worse, but you know that already.

4 ear infections? Pshaw! I laugh at 4. Wait until you get to 14. Just trying to make you laugh a little. 4 or 14, they all hurt us (the moms) too, don't they. Will your doctor let you get tubes after only 4? We didn't get tubes until I think 8.

BAH! Suckage! But it could have been MUCH worse. And look-- great blog fodder. Well worth the hassle, lemme tell ya. ;)

At least the baby wasn't with you and you didn't get hurt and, hell, blah blah blah. Bad days suck!! Have a drink!

Eeeks! Glad you're all OK. [and I thought MY week was sucking!] :)
*hugs*

I read your blog yesterday, left you a comment and then left work, went home to pick up my kids and go eat pizza with my oldest's soccer team and on the way...I was rear ended. How's that for irony!

Ugh!! Those bad days come around to us all. Hope things are going better for you now!

Oh, no! Scary added on crappy is just plain.. well. scarry and crappy. Gah.

Hope it's nothing but sunshine and roses this week!

Girl, I had no idea this happened. I'm so sorry. And your nephew? What? Is your sister being serious? You know where to find me if you need to just...talk about it.
Hopefully this week has been better.
