Posting those stockings made me think of the first Chrismas TP was responsible for fillling my stocking. When we were kids, stockings meant SweetTarts, two oranges that no one ever ate, possibly a small peice of jewelry, little fun toys, or twenty dollars to buy records or tapes for your new boom box. They were always taken off the mantle and put by your "area" of presents.
TP filled mine with a garlic press, a tire pressure guage, razor blades and a can of shaving cream. We had to have a "talk" about proper stocking etiquette. It does not involve kitchen implements or personal hygiene items.

Ours always include candy, soap, and random dollar store toys that we won't use and will regift the next year. My mom says her mom always put a new toothbrush and toothpaste in hers. Funny how the traditions differ from family to family.

Last year, my wonderful parents put deodorant in Ray's stocking. I think they might have been trying to tell him something...
Last year, I got my Ipod in my stocking. I don't think anything will top that.

Good Lord. I've been coaching my husband for nearly 13 years on proper stocking stuffing. He's close to getting it. Last year, I stuffed my OWN, and it was the best stocking EVER. hehehe.

Bwaa-haaa-haaaa! A "talk." We did the same thing with stockings. I think sometimes I looked forward to the stocking more than the gifts. And they were set by all out stuff. I never got oranges though.
